Mill Cottage Farm Experience has been offered some funding from a charitable Trust to help with the costs of a farm visit to your school and to encourage students (up to 19 years of age) to draw and paint the animals while they have the opportunity of being up close to the animals. The Trust is specifically for the Training of Handicapped Children in the Arts so our visit must fall within these guidelines. If you feel that your art department might benefit from this offer please contact us to see if we can assist with funding.

Bookings are coming in thick and fast, particularly for summer Saturdays. Please note there is a minimum 3 hour booking time for summer Saturdays, while Sundays are definitely a Family Day Off.
Farmer Sarah is looking forward to being back on the trailer (was she ever really off them?!) and Farmer Jonah loves seeing all the animals! Do look at the Public Events page and come along to one of those bookings!
Lambing is in full swing: so far 18 lambs, including 5 lots of triplets, so plenty to keep us on our toes, and lots of bottle feeding when we are on visits too. We have had a new litter of piglets so they are looking cute and cuddly. Goat kidding begins later in March and hopefully we should have another donkey arrival halfway through the year. Incubators are already in use so we should have some chicks soon too.
Due to the Senior Webmaster's (aka brother Dave) honeymoon and family circumstances for the Assistant Webmaster (aka sister Gill) the MCFE website has not had many recent updates. Our apologies; we hope this will be rectified soon! In the meantime, please refer to the MCFE Facebook page as this can be updated daily.
The logistics of caring for the farm, the business and a small child means one juggling ball has had to be dropped. Once again, we are not going to run an Annual Open Day this year, but we look forward to resurrecting the idea in the future. However, we are looking forward to giving something to our village and being part of Holybourne Flower Festival on Friday 6th June - watch this space (or the
MCFE Facebook page) for more details!
See you at a booking near you soon!
